Yes, that certainly was what I heard an elderly woman say proudly on TV. The other day as they were showing various people praise MTV on its 25th birthday, this one woman stood out from the rest. Now I wouldn’t have cared if it was any old lady. But this woman unique, and not in a positive way. She was in hijaab! This is a mother of the ummah, raising up our current generation! Did she think she was fighting oppression, by making a mockery out of herself and her deen? It made me truly sick and saddened.
My point is not to pick on anybody or have a great time whining about what is wrong with the Ummah. But sisters, realize that you are or you will be inshaAllah the mothers of our next generation. Let us focus on our deen, so that the next generation can at least say their parents tried to raise them up on the right path. Its not easy, but the result will be well beyond worth it inshaAllah.
