Lamont v. Lieberman

In the primary elections of this past Tuesday, the state of Connecticut decided to get rid of incumbent politician-for-life Senator Joe Lieberman and went for the strongly anti-war candidate Ned Lamont. So, what does a “commited” Democrat like Lieberman do? He dumps his party, and is planning to run in the November elections as and Inependent Democrat. He wants to have his cake and eat it too: say he is independent and still a Democrat! Talk about nerve!

Why does he not just admit that he is a Republican deep down, and just run as a Republican? We all already saw the big smooch between Lieberman and the President, at the State of the Union address this February. I think Joe Lieberman should admit that he and Bush are “in love” and based on the power of that love, he has decided to change his party affiliation. Its not like any of us will doubt a politician’s ability to love, right? After all, they show us everyday how much they luurrvveee power! So its certainly possible for them to love each other. So, just cop to the love affair and run as a Republican, Joey.

And here is the infamous kiss, for those of you fortunate enough to have missed it. Ahh, and as incentive to stick through the smooch, there is some commentary about halfway thru that is quite entertaining. 😆
