Trust not!

“One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though … betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope.” So said a playwright by the name of Steve Deitz. And its one of the more applicable quotes I came across, when looking for quotes about betrayal.

But as Muslims, we are always filled with hope. Islam is the veritable faith of hope and justice. So, more than the slaughter of hope, betrayal is the slaughter of innocence, of trust, of a gift of friendship. It makes the soul cold with pain; the heart weep blood in agony; the mind reel in horror, the body numb with shock. Depending, of course, on the level of trust and the extent of the betrayal. In any event, it hurts and it sucks.

alzubra, sweetheart, you just quoted Shakespeare! tsk tsk tsk…see, folks, what shock can do to us?! 😳 There was a lot more in there that I edited out…you would have been quoting Dante if I left it in! And you know how little I can tolerate Dante! 😥

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala is stronger than the worst traitor. Beg for His Mercy, or pray for His Justice.
